Abba Father…

We cry out Abba Father…

It is crucial to be intentionally spiritual in times of crisis such as the coronavirus pandemic. Since we all have to stay at home, either alone or with friends and family. We can look to, rest in and pray to our Father and trust that He will hear us and be faithful to answer us.

We can pray for hope, peace, strength and healing for ourselves, friends and family, people and nations who have been affected, lonely and hurting.

The following are some few prayer strategy to use as we seek God in prayer during this time of “Staying at home”. Every time we wake up, we do not know what the day holds and we begin another routine of fear, anxiety and panic. Engage more prayer strategies from the scriptures during this time.

Be blessed as you reflect and pray on these Bible verses to help keep our minds and hearts unwavering in God’s words and promises;

Be blessed to know that God is always with you: “I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me” – Psalm 16:8 (NLT)

The Lord invites us to hold His hand and not fear: “For I hold you by your right hand- I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.” – Isaiah 41:13 (NLT)

Receive His peace over fearful thoughts and trust solely in God: “You will keep in perfect peace those who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.” – Isaiah 26:3,4 (NLT)

The Lord Himself will go before us, no matter what lies ahead: “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)

Be blessed to find rest in God our Father who is ever-present to help and our refuge in the midst of terrifying events: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, Psalm46:1-2 (NIV)

A comforting reminder that God is our Abba Father who loves us and cares deeply for us: The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[f] And by him we cry, “Abba,[g] Father.” Romans 8:15 (NIV)

Reflect and Pray through Psalm 91.

Prayer: Father, we thank you that in the midst of all of these terrifying events we have you, thank you for Your goodness and love. Lord, we ask that your spirit washes over us. We ask that You cast out every spirit of fear, oppressive thoughts that want to fill our hearts and minds with worry in the name of your Son Jesus Christ. Amen

Heavenly Father we worship and bow down before Your Majesty – You Lord are the Creator of heaven and earth and everything therein. Lord, we bring all peoples from/in every nation to you, it is so hard to watch people suffer and we can do nothing about it. Even though we are powerless – we know someone who is All-Powerful and that is You Lord, we strongly believe You are powerful and capable too of stepping into this situation. Father, we ask for Your healing touch upon everyone and nations in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ. Amen
