Do you still not see or understand?

Dear Friend

How have you been since this pandemic broke out? And how are you adjusting to the new normal? This is a difficult time for us in the world, in spite of all these God can be trusted. He is faithful, unchanging and omnipotent. He is still God. We can always trust Him.

My Quiet Time this morning from the book of Mark helped me to travel down memory lane as I came to chapter 8 and saw where I had marked, verses 11-21 in my bible in 2017, exactly 28th of May 3years ago. Then I struggled with the idea of accepting God’s call to serve as a missionary. In all of my fears, I needed a sign that would affirm this call from God and His willingness to supply my needs. Deep down, my question wasn’t the sign but the fear of not having enough to sustain me the long haul.

In my predicament, God used these verses [Mark 8:11-21] to help me see my attitude towards His call. Just like the Pharisee, I was asking for a sign when God through diverse ways and circumstances had revealed Himself in my life. Knowing my fears, these questions in verses 17-18 challenged me: Why are you talking about bread? Do you still not see or understand? Are your hearts hardened? Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don’t you remember?

In 2018, I officially began my training and as I look back now, I had not lacked bread. True to his word, God has faithfully supplied my needs through your concerns and prayers The Lord is faithful, He can be trusted.

I don’t know what expectations you have, I don’t know what your struggles are right now… I’d just like to encourage you to trust this faithful God. He will come through for you.

May your love abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ in Jesus name,
